Worship Team

Role in Our Church
The Worship Team leads our congregation into the presence of God through music and praise. This team plays a vital role in creating an atmosphere where people can connect with God in a powerful and personal way. Whether through singing, playing instruments, or running sound and media, every member of the Worship Team helps set the tone for worship and prepares hearts to receive God’s Word.  We desire for those who join to prioritize making sure all attention, all effort, and all our faith combines to invoke the presence of the lord in an authentic way that allows self reflection, transformation and jubilation in his presence 
Expectations of the Role
  • Lead worship through music, either vocally or instrumentally, with excellence and a heart of worship.
  • Attend and actively participate in rehearsals to prepare for Sunday services.
  • Engage with the congregation and encourage an atmosphere of worship.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to create a seamless worship experience.
  • Be spiritually prepared, praying over the worship set and seeking God’s presence in personal life.
  • If serving on the tech/media side: Assist with sound, lyrics, or lighting to enhance the worship experience.

Requirements

  • Weekly Hours: Approximately 3–5 hours (including rehearsal and Sunday service).
  • Frequency: Rotating schedule based on availability (based on your preference)
  • Meetings & Training: Rehearsals are typically held Saturdays at noon and before service at 8:45a; occasional workshops or team meetings may be required.

Heart

Must have a heart for worship and a willingness to serve with humility.

Music Proficiency

Musical proficiency (for vocalists and instrumentalists). An audition may be required.

Commitment

Commitment to practice outside of rehearsal to be well-prepared.

Christ Follower

Must be a committed follower of Christ and actively engaged in the life of the church.
If serving in tech/media: Basic understanding of sound, lighting, or lyrics software is helpful, but training is available.

Training & Onboarding
New team members will go through an audition process to ensure the right fit.
Worship workshops and training sessions are offered periodically.
New members may shadow a service before actively participating.

Roland is a coach and mentor to many. He is a pillar of faith and refuge for our youth. He and his family have been planted at 316 since 2017.

Worship Leader
Angie brings her love of music and God to lead worship. Her gifts go far beyond the mic but we are grateful she shares them all with this community.
