Our core values

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Values

The 316 Church is rooted in scripture and founded on the Love of Jesus. Our aim is to listen to and follow the Holy Spirit, helping others to also.

PRAYER

“He said to them, “It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer.”
- Matthew 21:13

In scripture, we see a God who responds to a sincere prayer from a humble heart over and over again. Pure devotion is never overlooked by Jesus. We consider it a privilege and priority to help people encounter Jesus by providing on-ramps to meet with Him through a variety of interactive prayer stations and initiatives.

SERVANTHOOD

“The kings and men of authority in this world rule oppressively over their subjects, claiming that they do it for the good of the people. They are obsessed with how others see them. But this is not your calling. You will lead by a different model. The greatest one among you will live as one called to serve others without honor.”
- Luke 22:25-26

“You will lead by a different model.” We believe and walk in servanthood. Working to create a culture where there is no man or woman of the hour, rather taking a communal approach in worship while teaching, equipping and building together, knowing we need every part of the body at work for our optimal health. Doing the hard work of serving one another in love.

UNITY & DIVERSITY

”Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
 - Matthew 6:10

As we ponder the throne room described in Revelation chapter 7 where every tribe, tongue and nation stand together worshipping in perfect oneness, we grab hold of the gift in that imagery and believe it the will of God for us now. So we stand together as Image Bearers, working for racial healing and union. While doing the work of justice, mercy and reconciliation.

RESTORATION OF THE FAMILY

”The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
- Isaiah 61:1

God’s desire for us to be made whole and the significant role family plays in that is undeniable. Living in a fractured culture that emphasizes the superficial instead of what’s happening in our soul, motivates us to love well and to practically provide help in mending together broken relationships and broken hearts.  We do this by teaching emotional health and offering viable resources for inner healing.

BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN GENERATIONS

”And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.”
- Judges 2:10

We’re committed to doing the hard work of listening and learning  from both young and old. We open our minds to innovation  and  newness as fresh generations rise up, having much to teach us about their ever changing world. As old ways of doing things pass away, we also hold fast to the wisdom awarded us from the hard earned lessons from the elders in our midst. By heeding and valuing each other as brothers and sisters we grab hold of a better, fuller way of life bringing glory to the One we adore.
