Role in Our Church
The Prayer Team is a vital part of our church, standing in the gap through prayer for our congregation, leadership, community, and beyond. This team is dedicated to seeking God's presence, covering the church in spiritual protection, and interceding for needs both seen and unseen. Whether praying before services, during altar calls, or throughout the week, this team helps cultivate a culture of prayer and dependence on God.
Expectations of the Role
  • Pre-Service Prayer: Gather before services to pray over the worship, message, and congregation.
  • During Service: Remain spiritually engaged, interceding throughout the service.
  • Altar Ministry: Be available to pray with individuals during altar calls or after the service.
  • Ongoing Intercession: Commit to praying for church needs, leadership, and submitted prayer requests throughout the week.
  • Discretion & Sensitivity: Maintain confidentiality and handle prayer requests with care.
  • Spiritual Readiness: Maintain a personal prayer life and stay rooted in scripture.
  • Emergency Prayer Response: Be available for urgent prayer needs when possible.

Requirements

  • Weekly Hours: 1–3 hours (depending on pre-service prayer, service participation, and personal prayer commitment).
  • Frequency: Rotating schedule or ongoing intercession from home.
  • Meetings & Training: Occasional prayer gatherings and training on effective intercession and spiritual discernment.

A willingness to be led by the Holy Spirit in prayer and intercession.

Commitment

A commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity when handling prayer requests.

Christ Follower

Must be a committed follower of Christ and actively engaged in the life of the church.
No prior experience required—just a passion for seeking God on behalf of others.

Training & Onboarding
New team members will attend an orientation on effective intercessory prayer.
Opportunities to shadow experienced prayer leaders during altar calls.
Ongoing training on topics like spiritual warfare, healing prayer, and prophetic intercession.

Janie is passionate about coming alongside people as they process through trauma and encounter the restorative presence of God. She is a pillar in our community and a sincere lover of Jesus, earnestly sharing her gifts for the benefit of others.
