Speaker: Pastor Cameron Jackson

Sermon Series: Strength for the Journey

Message Title: Part 1

Message Summary: What happens when life strips everything away and we are left staring at what feels like nothing? The story of the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7 pulls us into exactly that moment. A woman who has lost her husband, faces the threat of losing her children to debt slavery, and stands before a prophet with barely anything to her name. Yet within that desperate moment, a profound truth emerges: the very thing we dismiss as nothing can become the instrument of our deliverance. The jar of oil she nearly overlooked became the source of a miracle that paid her debts and sustained her family. This ancient story speaks directly to the way we undervalue our own gifts, callings, and contributions. We are invited to examine the places in our own lives where we have written off our talents, our time, or our presence as insignificant. God does not require us to have everything figured out before He moves. He asks us to bring what we have, however small it seems, and trust that He can multiply it beyond what we can imagine. The deeper invitation here is a shift in how we see ourselves, moving away from a poverty of identity and toward the truth that we are carriers of something valuable, something the people around us genuinely need.
