Role in Our Church
The Kids Ministry Team plays a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for the youngest members of our church. This is more than just babysitting, this team helps plant seeds of faith in young hearts by introducing them to God’s love through stories, play, and simple lessons. By caring for children during services and church events, this team allows parents to fully engage in worship and teaching, knowing their little ones are being loved and cared for. Our kids are not just tagalongs but vital members.

Our classrooms:
Nursery - Ages 0 to Pre-K
Kids - Grades K -4th
Middle School- Grades 5th- 8th
Youth Group meets separately on Wednesday nights
Expectations of the Role
  • Supervise and engage with children in a safe and loving manner.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate activities, such as Bible stories, crafts, and playtime.
  • Follow all safety and cleanliness guidelines.
  • Communicate any needs, concerns, or incidents to the Kids Ministry Team Leader.
  • Be patient, kind, and prepared to handle a variety of situations with grace.

Requirements

  • Weekly Hours: 2.5–3.5 hours per shift (during services or special events).
  • Frequency: Rotating schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed).
  • Meetings & Training: Occasional team meetings and training sessions to ensure safety and best practices.

Safety

Must complete a background check for the safety of all children. Willingness to follow all church safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Christ Follower

Must be a committed follower of Christ and actively engaged in the life of the church.
Training & Onboarding
Volunteers will attend an orientation to go over policies and expectations.
Hands-on training and shadowing opportunities are available for new volunteers.
Regular refresher training is provided to ensure continued excellence in care.

Sheena Jackson

Kids Ministry Leader
Sheena is a retired elementary school teacher who has brought her love for education and strong organization skills to serve our 316 kids and has created an interactive bible learning environment thats fun and impactful.   
Ops Team Opening:
Somebody in our church is called to help shape the next generation, and maybe you’ve been waiting for permission to believe it could be you. We are looking for a Kids & Youth Director who will love our young people well, build meaningful connections, and help create spaces where faith can grow strong from the ground up. This is more than filling a role; this is worship through service, discipleship in action, and a chance to pour into lives that will impact the future of our church and city. We’re not looking for perfection—we’re looking for someone with heart, vision, teachability, and a willingness to focus on this mission with consistency and care. This volunteer leadership position will serve alongside our pastors and executive team, helping shape the direction of ministry at 316.
